Ever since my kid sister made me watch gokusen since i also teach, i've been hooked on japanese dramas (j-doramas). This fascination with the girly-looking japanese guys in gokusen lead me to discovering about their group kat-tun...which introduced me basically to j-pop. Which led me to the other forms of jap music...such as j-rock...after it was a "hello, l'arc-en-ciel" moment for me. Two years after my introduction to the wonderful world of the japanese, I'm on my way to becoming fluent in niponggo and actually going to Japan for a conference. It's quite a long way from how I was before.
This song for aqualung describes how I feel for three of my favorite japanese actors...namely Kamenashi Kazuya, Akinishi Jin and Oguri Shun. Now when I think about it, I first saw them in Gokusen, Shun from the first season while Kame and Jin were from the second one.
I admire Kame for his work ethics...I read that he is one of the most hardworking member of KAt-tun. He sings, dances, acts on TV and plays, writes lyrics for their songs, plays baseball, hosts their show very well...it seems that this guy can do everything!
Jin is a very good singer. His voice really shines in their songs, especially in Never Ever. He also has this way of dancing with his hips that wou;d automatically make my heart skip a bit whenever I see him perform it. I was also pleasantly surprised by his decision to go on a hiatus and study in LA for 6 months just after their debut. That takes guts, eh?
Shun...I admire Shun for his ability to really get into different characters every time I see him on dramas or movies. He really is a chameleon...just like how his community names him here in lj. I can't wait to seem him act live in his plays...he seemed to have gone a long way from when I first saw him in GTO. I also try to listen to his radio show, ANN. It's very refreshing to see him joke around with his guests since he seem to favor portraying quiet characters in his shows. (Of course Crows Zero is a different story altogether).
Can't wait to go to Japan next year! :)
